SATYAGURU is a volunteer charity organization based in Laurel, Maryland, USA.

Sixty years after the independence of India, the majority of the country still wrestles with poverty, illiteracy, malnutrition, disease, atrocity, slavery, and bondage. All forms of caste violence and suppression, religious fundamentalism, and ethnic strife are growing, while resource conflicts are dealt with using repression, corruption, and bribery.

We, therefore, assert our struggle for an economic system that places the right to life and livelihood of those in the scheduled castes at the core and liberates them from the tyranny of the caste system, which is in the interest of only the privileged upper-caste Hindus.

Current goals and projects include the following:

1. Scholarship and Education: Scholarships and educational help to bright, but economically backward and underprivileged, children. Each scholarship costs Rs.5500 or USD $150. We engage the help of local, grass-root organizations working to identify students in need.
2. Micro Loans: Loans to help start small businesses such as vegetable stalls, open tea shops, and grocery stores.
3. Awards and Recognition: Awards to people who make a difference in the lives of Dalits and other marginalized communities.
4. Support Victims: Support of and help for victims of caste atrocity. Dalits are victimized every day. When we come to know of any atrocity, we appeal for help and support for the victim(s).
5. Libraries: Establishing libraries in Dalit localities with at least a computer station, books, educational equipment, and other facilities for meeting/discussing educational needs. 
6. Vocational Training: A program to train local people for small businesses, such as tailoring, textile design, and other suitable projects.
7. Documentation and Reporting Network: Prepare comprehensive documentation (including video and audio) on crimes against Dalits, atrocities, discrimination, and all forms of injustice. Report to police and other legal authorities, related agencies for justice and peace; online news outlets; and private radio and TV stations.
